Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of OurBlock (the "app"), operated by Avenu Labs ("we", "us"), based in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who Can Use OurBlock

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm the information you provide (name, organization name, email) is accurate.

2. Your Account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Let us know at eventsmariam@gmail.com if you believe your account has been compromised. You can permanently delete your account at any time from the Account screen in the app.

You can register as an individual or an organization — organization accounts should only be created by someone authorized to represent that organization.

3. Creating Events

When you submit an event, you agree that:

• The information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
• You have the right to share the content you submit (description, event details, any future uploaded images).
• Your event will be reviewed before it becomes visible to other users — approval is at our discretion, and we may reject an event that violates these Terms or is inaccurate, spam, or inappropriate.
• You remain responsible for keeping your event's details up to date and for cancelling it if it's no longer happening.

We reserve the right to remove any event, at any time, that violates these Terms.

4. Third-Party and AI-Discovered Events

Not every event on OurBlock is submitted by a user. We also show:

• Ticketmaster events— pulled live from Ticketmaster's public Discovery API for the area you're viewing, linked out to Ticketmaster for tickets and full details. We don't independently verify these listings.
• AI-discovered events — found and summarized by an automated system that searches public event listings on local institutional websites (e.g. city, library, and school sites). These are not independently verified either, and the summary is AI-generated from what the system found, not a human-reviewed submission.

Always confirm timing, location, pricing, and other details with the original source (linked from the event, where available) before making plans. We're not responsible for inaccurate, outdated, or removed third-party or AI-discovered listings.

5. AI-Generated Content

OurBlock offers optional AI-assisted generation of event descriptions and organizer bios, based on details and notes you provide. You're responsible for reviewing AI-generated content before publishing it — we don't guarantee its accuracy, and it's generated from the information you give it, not independently verified facts.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent event information.
• Use the app to harass, spam, or harm other users.
• Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the app's operation.
• Use the app for any unlawful purpose.

7. Third-Party Links and Content

Events may include links to external ticketing or RSVP pages. We don't control and aren't responsible for the content, accuracy, or safety of third-party sites you're directed to.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

OurBlock is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee that event information — whether posted by users, pulled from Ticketmaster, or AI-discovered — is accurate, that events will occur as listed, or that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free. You attend any event at your own risk — we are not a party to and have no responsibility for what happens at events listed on the app.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OurBlock is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to reliance on inaccurate event information or issues arising at an event you attended.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from the Account screen in the app, or by contacting eventsmariam@gmail.com.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time; we'll update the "Last updated" date when we do. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.
